Hosts Matt Hill and Ken Lavin
Fossil Fuel Fridays each week for the Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma
Matt Hill and Ken Lavin had been watching Kimberly Smith of TalkTexasOil do her show #fossilfuelfridays and interview interesting people in oil and gas. When she asked the pair to guest host, the original thought was no. Once the pandemic hit, it became obvious how powerful LinkedIn had become as a tool in and advocating for the oil and gas industry and increasing their network of industry connections.
Matt and Ken eventually took over hosting duties and continue to have guests from all sectors of the industry. Along with running the oilfieldtailgate.com parties in the OKC area, Matt and Ken now had another platform in which they could meet the people who make our world a far better place. With the support from industry connections across the country, they started a long form podcast called the Talking Energy Show. They now attend events across the country to represent Talking Energy Show as well as provide content correspondence for other shows as well.

Host by Keith Stelter
West Texas BD Manager for Arc Energy
Keith, like hundreds of your peers, found himself without a job due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He knew that he was competing with lots of other job seekers and set out to find a way to stand out. Since there was no in-person options for networking, Keith took to LinkedIn and started providing positive posts of his work experience, his family and anything creative that would draw attention. Keith’s online efforts grew traction and soon hundreds of LinkedIn contacts were all helping Keith in his job search. Thousands of industry professionals followed Keith’s journey and rejoiced when he ended up with a great job with a great company, Arc Energy.
After his amazing experience with his peers on LinkedIn, Keith decided to jump out of his comfort zone and start his podcast, Tally Book Troubleshooting. Keith’s vision for Tally Book Troubleshooting is to provide a place for people to get to know the oilfield, the problems the industry faces, and the ingenuity demonstrated by individuals creatively solving problems every day.
After joining ARC Energy, Keith’s journey was chronicled in an article featured in The Way Ahead, an SPE publication written by and for young professionals in the upstream oil and gas industry. You can read about his journey here:
